We invest at the intersection of materials science and climate necessity.

Lakefusion's thesis is grounded in a simple observation: petroleum-derived and emissions-heavy materials — plastics, foams, synthetic leathers, industrial fibers — are being replaced by biological and engineered alternatives at industrial scale. Regulatory pressure, corporate sustainability commitments, and a generation of materials scientists spinning out of research labs are driving a structural shift in how materials are sourced and made.

What separates us is how we evaluate: Thomas Brennan operated 4,200 acres of Illinois row-crop and dairy, Dr. Mei-Lin Zhao spent seven years at Bayer Crop Science, and Anders Lindgren spent twelve years in bioplastics and engineered fibers. We do technical diligence the way scientists do — in the lab and in the field, before we ever model a market.
